Robert Parker 94 points: "The Keller 2007 Westhofener Abts.er.deRiesling Trockenbeerenauslese Gold Capsule (an auction lot) is evendenser as well as sweeter than this year’s Kirchspiel T.B.A., butalso displays more of the musky, carnal, exotically spicy side ofbotrytis to go with its honey, white raisin, quince and apricotpreserves, malt, and caramel. Prodigious length and kaleidoscopiccomplexity as well as efficacious citricity render the sheersweetness of the finish less over-riding than in Keller’s otherbotrytis super-concentrates of the vintage, as well as lending thisan uncanny sense of buoyancy. That said, it is a wine strictly forthose with patience and a longer life ahead of them than mine (orheirs who cherish great wine). " (Wine Advocate #187).

Robert Parker 96 points: "The more concentrated of two T.B.A.s fromthis site (the first of which was reviewed in issue 185), Knebel’s2007 Winninger Rottgen Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese A.P. #19 09took more than a year to ferment, and a small portion of its60-some liters was auctioned in Trier last Septembe”09,” since thiswine is also easy to identify as the sole Knebel 2007 to have beenbottled and registered only in 2009! Subtly smoky, and (for thisgenre) remarkably crushed stone mineral notes rise from the glass,along with quince and apricot preserves, as well as orangemarmalade. This displays an amazing conjunction of viscous, creamy,botrytized richness with lift and delicacy not to mention a – forT.B.A. – improbably sense of saline and stony minerality. Gingerand cinnamon, candied citrus zest and black tea lend invigorationto a terrific finish. Here’s a wine almost surely showing only aportion of what it has in store for anyone lucky to follow it forthe next 30 or more years. " (Wine Advocate #187).
