When we visited the winery in 2009, I couldn’t get enough of this wine. If 08 had trouble getting fruit to ripen, that wasn't the case with Schaefer. Ripe pear, and peachs, lacy acidity, and firmly laid minerals follow the finish.

Tasted at the winery on release, this wine had such juicy fresh tropical and pear notes, starkly different than the lime-adey wine of its neighbors. I am sure its calmed down now and has become a little more linear and focused.
